MICHEL CASSELMAN

Michel Casselman is general manager of PMV. Before taking over the helm at PMV, Michel Casselman was a Partner at Aeroman, which manages private equity investments in aviation equipment. Michel Casselman also worked thirteen years at Petercam Bank NV, where he started in 1998 as a financial analyst and held various positions. During his last position as a director of Petercam Services, he was responsible for private equity investments. In this role, he managed or invested directly in aviation and renewable energy, as well as in listed private equity funds in Asia (China, India, and Vietnam). Michel Casselman has more than twenty years of experience, five of which at a technology company now part of Oracle, where he started as a consultant and retired as director of Consulting Services. He holds two master’s degrees from the KU Leuven, one as a mechanical engineer and one in applied economics. Michel Casselman also completed further studies at Kellogg's University in the United States and INSEAD in France.

PROF. GEORGE JAYANTHA DIAS

Professor in Clinical Anatomy & Biomaterials, Department of Anatomy, School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Otago, New Zealand.


Prof. George J Dias is an internationally recognized researcher and teacher. His primary research focus is in the area of biomaterials for; formulating smart bioactive toothpaste for 21st century dentistry; implantable scaffolds for bone regeneration; biodegradable magnesium alloy based surgical devices; extracting novel edible protein from nontraditional sources. He is also a reputed surgical/clinical anatomy teacher in both undergraduate and postgraduate professional courses. Basis of the above attributes stems from his 16 years’ experience in clinical dentistry and oral & maxillofacial surgery, which led him to take up academia at the University of Otago (1999). He has published extensively in clinical anatomy, paleopathology, and biomaterials. He has 91 publications, including 4 patents, 7416 citations, and a h-index of 29. His current focus is translational research related to bioactive ceramics for oral hygiene, degradable natural polymeric bone substitute and dental tissue regeneration materials; magnesium based biodegradable orthopaedic devices; bioactive hydroxyapatite for bone regeneration; absorbable suture materials with wound healing properties; and extraction of premium edible protein from keratinous raw material.

DR. HILARY COORAY

DR HILARY COORAY

Dr Cooray graduated from the Dental School, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ceylon in 1972. He became a life member of Sri Lanka Dental Association in the same year. He was elected as the Treasurer of SLDA in 1976 and was the Editor of SLDA journal in 1977 and 1978. He was elected as the Honorary Secretary in 1982. The first ever International Conference was held with him as the Secretary of the Organizing Committee Dr Cooray was the Treasurer in 1983 to 1987 for a period of 5 years, then he served as Vice President, President Elect and finally the President in 1991. During his term as President, he led a delegation of 24 members for the ASIA Pacific Dental congress (APDC). Dr Cooray was elected as a Vice President of Asia Pacific Dental Federation, the position he held till 1996. He was the first Sri Lankan elected to the Council of APDF. From 1992, until the congress was held, he was the Chairman of the Promotions Committee which had to work tirelessly to bring the foreign delegates for the meeting during a difficult and insecure period in Sri Lanka’s history. At the 4th Triennial meeting held in Kenya in 2003. Dr Cooray was elected as the Vice President to represent the Asia Pacific Region. Dr Cooray served the OPA in various capacities in the executive council including its General Secretory (the only Dental Surgeon to hold this office) and its President in 2006. He was the Chairman of the new building committee which was responsible for the management of the

construction of the new building where the present SLDA office is housed.

DR R P ILLEPERUMA

Dr Illeperuma is a Senior Lecturer in Oral Pathology at University of Peradeniya. He possesses below academic and professional qualifications. BDS Honours (Sri Lanka) 1999-2004 with Distinctions in Pharmacology, General Surgery & Restorative Dentistry MSD, PhD (Seoul, South Korea) 2008-2012 Graduate School, Yonsei University, Oral Cancer Research Institute, Yonsei University College of Dentistry, Seoul, South Korea Registered Dental Practitioner at Sri Lanka Medical Council since 2004 - SLMC Diploma in Acupuncture at “Medicina Alternativa” Institute affiliated to the Open International University of Complementary Medicine-USA (1997 to 1999).
